A BETTER STARTING BRIEF

Solar planning tool for Costa del Sol properties

Explore a defensible system range and the questions your survey should answer. This is an educational planning aid—not a quotation, production simulation or financial promise.

kWh/year
Use the total from 12 bills where possible.

Start with solar-only economics. Strong daytime use can reduce the amount of surplus available to charge a battery.

Questions for the survey and quotes

  • Use twelve consecutive monthly bills, not one summer bill.
  • Note any pool equipment planned for the next two years.
  • Include planned cooling or heat-pump loads before sizing.
  • Allow only for future EV charging that is genuinely planned.
  • Ask every quote for monthly production, direct-use assumptions and exported-energy treatment.

HOW TO USE THE OUTPUT

Take the range to the roof and the bills.

The range uses a deliberately broad Costa del Sol planning yield and caps production against annual demand. It does not know the roof orientation, shade, structural condition, export tariff or interval consumption.

A competent proposal should replace these assumptions with a measured roof layout, monthly production model and property-specific load profile. Compare a smaller solar-only option before adding panels or storage to absorb avoidable exports.
