Is a Powerwall right for my home?
Powerwall suits homes that export plenty of solar during the day and use a lot after sunset, and owners who want reliable backup in a power cut. Its large usable capacity and simple app make it a popular choice for Costa del Sol villas.
What we install
Each Powerwall unit stores 13.5 kWh of usable energy. We fit one or more units, the gateway that manages backup switching, and the protection and wiring to connect it to your solar system and consumer unit. We set up the Tesla app so you can see your solar, battery and grid use in real time.
Backup
With the gateway installed, Powerwall can switch the home to battery power when the grid fails. We agree in advance which circuits are backed up and check that the peak load stays within what the system can supply. Lighting, refrigeration, internet, alarm and gates are typical; several air conditioners and a pool heat pump at once usually are not.
New or existing solar
Powerwall can be added to most existing solar installations because it connects on the AC side. We check the existing inverter, the monitoring and the space for the battery before quoting.
Where it goes
Garages, plant rooms and sheltered outside walls all work. We avoid direct afternoon sun on the unit and keep it accessible for service.
Questions we are often asked
How many Powerwalls do I need?
Most homes need one. Large villas with heavy evening use or extensive backup may need two or more.
Can Powerwall run my whole house in a power cut?
It can back up a whole home if the loads are within its limits. Large air-conditioning and pool loads usually mean backing up selected circuits instead.
Can I add Powerwall to my existing solar?
Usually yes, as an AC-coupled battery.
