How to read the published price ranges
The table uses Spanish residential examples published by Selectra and Otovo and reviewed in August 2026. Their examples describe different panel counts and household profiles, so the bands are a market orientation rather than matching packages. The cited examples state that VAT is included.
These are not Costa del Sol Solar quotations. A final proposal may sit outside the bands where the roof, access, electrical installation, equipment choice or administrative scope is different. Battery storage, scaffolding, significant roof work and backup equipment must be checked in the individual quote.
The panel count is only the visible part
Panels matter, but they do not describe the complete installation. A quote also needs an inverter or microinverters, mounting designed for the roof, DC and AC protection, isolators, cabling, monitoring and safe access for the work. Long cable routes, several roof planes or a consumer unit that needs attention can change the scope considerably.
Battery storage should be shown separately. The quote needs to name usable capacity, compatible control equipment and any backup hardware. A battery price without that context is difficult to compare.
Ask what the price includes after the roof work
The physical installation is one stage. The proposal should state who handles electrical certification, regional registration and the information needed for surplus compensation. Municipal requirements depend on the property and location, so the responsibility for checking them should also be clear.
A cheap quote can become expensive when scaffolding, roof repairs, registration or backup equipment appears later. A fixed scope is more useful than a low starting figure with broad exclusions.
Compare output assumptions as carefully as equipment
Two proposals with the same number of panels can predict different results. Check the assumed orientation, shade, system losses and annual consumption. Monthly production is more revealing than one annual total for a property with heavy summer cooling or long empty periods.
The estimate should also separate electricity used directly from energy exported to the grid. Savings based on consuming every generated unit are rarely credible for an ordinary home.
What to bring to a solar cost review
Twelve months of electricity bills provide the best starting point. Add details of pool equipment, air conditioning, electric hot water and any planned vehicle or heat pump. Explain how often the property is occupied and whether it is usually empty during daylight hours.
That information allows the installer to price a system with a defined job. It also makes unnecessary capacity easier to spot before a deposit is paid.
