Survey the property before fixing the design
The survey checks roof form, condition, orientation and shade along with safe access and equipment positions. Electricity bills show the scale and timing of demand. The designer also needs to know about pool pumps, cooling, hot water and future electrical loads.
The result should be a defined panel layout, inverter architecture, predicted production and installation scope. A battery or backup arrangement needs its own load priorities.
Resolve ownership and permissions early
Detached homes, apartment communities, protected buildings and commercial premises do not present the same administrative position. Roof rights, community approval and local requirements should be identified before equipment is ordered.
For collective self-consumption, the participating supplies and allocation agreement create additional work. The IDAE publishes a dedicated guide for collective arrangements and communities of owners.
Certification and regional registration are part of completion
The Junta de Andalucía explains that legalisation begins with the identifying CAU code from the electricity distributor, followed by the applicable regional procedure. The electrical installation also requires the relevant technical documentation and certification.
A finished array on the roof is not the same as a completed administrative process. The proposal should name the party responsible for each stage and the documents the owner will receive.
Surplus compensation follows the registered system
Where the installation is eligible and the owner chooses simplified compensation, unused generation is exported and its value is applied under the electricity supply contract. IDAE explains that the valuation depends on whether the customer is on the regulated or free market.
Supplier processing can continue after the physical installation. Ask for the timetable to distinguish the installation date, legalisation and the point at which export compensation is expected to appear on bills.
